Campground Rehabilitation Project Update: Beginning in 2027, the campground at Ricketts Glen State Park is undergoing a major shower house renovation project. During this time, portions of the campground will be temporarily closed while other areas remain open as work is completed in phases. DCNR is replacing outdated shower and restroom facilities with new, modern, and accessible amenities. The sites which are impacted during this phased project are blocked for reservations on our system. If you see a site is open when you would like to visit, it is not currently impacted by the shower house project.
FALLS TRAIL WINTER CLOSURE: Every winter the Falls Trail closes due to ice and hazardous conditions on the trail. During this time the only persons allowed on the trail are registered ice climbers and experienced hikers with the proper equipment. This equipment would include: crampons, an ice ax, rope, and a hiking partner. Hikers must be familiar with and know how to use this equipment. Ice climbers should sign in at the park office or other designated registration area. [Typically the trail is closed late November until mid to late April. Check our website or call the park office for updates. 570-477-5675.]
