LAUREL RIDGE STATE PARK, PABS 01 653 ShelterNotice:BackPack Campers bringing pets: Pets are permitted within the backpack shelter areas and must be on a leash or in a cage at all times. Pets must display a license, if required in home state and have a current rabies vaccination. The pet must be under control at all times. No more than 2 non-caged pets per shelter. Pet waste must be cleaned up in shelter/tent areas and removed from the area. Changes/Cancellations to the Permit: Please call the park office, 724-455-3744, to make changes or to cancel your reservation. Changes and cancellations can be made up to 4 p.m. on the day of your arrival, or 4 p.m. Friday for weekend arrivals. RESPONSIBLE PERSON: There must be someone 18 years of age or older for every 10 campers in the party to be responsible for the shelter area being reserved. Water Availability on the Trail: Water is available at most trailhead and shelter areas, but may not be available at all areas at all times. All water sources are non-potable and should be treated. Please check advisories on the website at www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/findapark/laurelridge/index.htm prior to your departure for any updates to water availability. Emergency contact information must be completed for your backpack reservation. Emergency contact provided should be a person NOT hiking in your party so they can be reached in case of an emergency on your part. All vehicles parked overnight at any trailhead parking area must be registered. Non-registered vehicles may be ticketed. Overnight parking in non-designated areas is not permitted. Back Pack Camping Area Please protect your natural resources. Do not pick or damage vegetation. The Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail is open to foot traffic only. Shuttle services are provided by Wilderness Voyageurs. Please call 800-272-4141.This trail and associated facilities are not ADA. Water is not available at all trailhead / parking or shelter areas.
